Jamshedpur, Sept 23: With the motor pump still to be repaired, the water filtration plant in Bistupur continues to remain dormant while the residents of Bagbera Housing Colony keep on looking up to tankers for supply of potable water to meet domestic needs. It may be mentioned that the water filtration plant in Bistupur had been set up to supply potable water to the denizens of Bagbera Housing Colony.
On being urged by Panchayat Committee member Sunil Gupta, social activist and former Zila Parishad Vice President Rajkumar Singh has been ensuring free supply of 8,000 litres of water daily through his personal tankers to the Bagbera Housing Colony residents who have been queuing up to collect their requirements of potable water. This has been the scene since the past six days. The water tankers are being stationed at various points in Bagbera Colony including Ganesh Puja Maidan, Shahid Maidan, Chitragupt Puja Maidan, Nehru Maidan, Kunwar Singh Maidan, besides other places of convenience for the colony residents.
Bagbera Colony residents have expressed gratitude to Rajkumar Singh for his humanitarian services. Among others helping out in managing the free water distribution services are Santosh Thakur, Seema Pandey, Rakesh Singh, Rajkumar Singh, KD Munda and Anil Singh.

With such acute shortage of water in the city, there are a lot of localities and buildings which continue to waste water
With such acute shortage of water in the city, many localities and buildings continue to waste water on a regular basis.
Like not maintaining the storage tankers located at the roof of most buildings that keep on overflowing once the levels have been breached.
Why not initiate a crackdown on such buildings/localities who are not acting responsibly.
