Baharagora: In a crackdown against illegal sand mining, the police took decisive action by blocking access roads using a JCB. The operation, led by CO Bhola Shankar Mahato and police station in-charge Santan Tiwari, targeted areas along the Subarnarekha river in Mahuldangari, Baharagora.
Upon reaching the river site, authorities discovered no vehicles present at the ghat. To curb illegal sand mining activities, the police employed a JCB to cut and block the road. Police station in-charge Santan Tiwari reported ongoing complaints regarding illicit excavation activities in the area.
The police are compiling a list of tractor owners involved in the illegal sand lifting operation, and impending FIRs will be filed against all implicated individuals. The road blockade serves as a stern measure to prevent further unauthorized sand mining in the region.
