Police still clueless, victim serious at TMH

Jamshedpur : Even after 24 hours of attack on the trader, police are clueless about the two bike-borne criminals who shot and seriously injured the 36-year-old near Bank of Baroda at Bhuiyadih under Sidhgora police station area last night.

The gun-shot victim, Bittu Singh is admitted at Tata Main Hospital’s high dependency unit (HDU) where his condition is said to be stable but still serious.

A resident of New Subhas Colony in Mango, Bittu has sustained the gun-shot injury in his left ribs. The incident took place at about 9.30 pm while the gun-shot victim was returning home by riding his bike from Litti Chowk in Sidhgora to his home at Mango.

Sources in the hospital said that though the bullet has crossed the victim’s body it has not damaged any vital part.

Deputy superintendent of police (headquarters-I) KN Mishra said till the afternoon today, Bittu was unconscious.

“He is still in danger. After he came to his sense, we spoke to him. He said he was urinating at a place near Bank of Baroda in Bhuiyadih having parked his bike at about 9.30 pm, when two bike borne criminals appeared before him.

One of them got down and fired him a shot from close range,” Mishra said quoting the gun-shot victim. He said Bittu, however, could not identify the attackers as it was dark.

The DSP said that the gun-shot attack on the trader might be a fallout of an enmity which has not been established as yet.

Superintendent of police (city) Prashant Anand who is monitoring the investigation said that they are trying to find out the attackers by digging into the background of the gun-shot victim’s activity.
