Jamshedpur, September 7: Jamshedpur Management Association (JMA) organized a high impact session on �Happiness at Work� by Dr. Rajagopal (Raj) Raghunathan at Centre for Excellence Auditorium.
Dr. Raj is a Professor, researcher and author based at USA. He has also written a book “If You’re So Smart, Why Aren’t You Happy” that reveals the traits of people that can get in the way of happiness and explores the habits that lead to happiness.
Dr. Raj explained about three key elements MBA of happiness Mastery (a sense that you do something really well; actualized or actualizing your �god given� gifts or potential), Belongingness (a sense of deep and intimate connection with at least one other person), and Autonomy (A sense that you are not constrained to do things because of external pressure).
Dr Raj also described how abundance Vs Scarcity mind set influences ones capability of attaining sustainable happiness. He also shared the research data which shows that on average happy people are more successful in life compared to those who are more stressed and keep chasing superiority.
He talked about coursera version of his online course on happiness, called “A Life of Happiness and Fulfilment” (MOOC) was featured as a Top 10 course by Coursera for several weeks.
Raj Raghunathan earned his PhD from the Stern School of Business, New York University, and is professor of marketing at the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. Raj’s work juxtaposes theories from psychology, behavioural sciences, decision theory and marketing to explain connections between affect and consumption behaviour.
Welcome address was given by Rabindra Kumar (Hony. Secretary, Jamshedpur management Association). Mr Kumar shared the activities being done by JMA in equipping and empowering JMA members with latest in management field as well as organizing sessions on topics of general interests.

Around 60 participants comprising members of JMA, representatives of XLRI, CII-Yi and IIMM attended the program.
