Jamshedpur: Dispute between criminals over the business of�electricity supply in slum area led to murder Sikander Das, one of the partners in crime at Chhayanagar in Sitaramdera late in the night of May 28.
The police have arrested T Lohar, Ajit Mondal, Sambhu Patro, Sonu Gope and Ujjal Kumar alias Inzamam, all in the age-group of 20 to 25 and residents of Chhayanagar, Bhuiyandih.
Superintendent of police (city) Chandan Jha said that� two the accused, Kishori and Sonu and the murder victim himself would run separate business of electricity supply having tapped the power from Tata Steel line.�
They would supply the power to over 500 houses and would charge a monthly amount ranging from Rs 200 to Rs 500 from each of the house-holds.
According to Jha, a fortnight ago, Sikander (31) had assaulted one of the staff of Kishori Rajak and got his left leg broken following a quarrel over the power supply business.�
Jha said the murder victim Sikander had a criminal background and was accused in a murder case and in a robbery case beside other minor cases.
The police had already recovered the murder weapon, a huge knife, from a nallah the night murder took place.�
