Jamshedpur: The Election Commission of India (ECI), New Delhi, has appointed a Police Observer for the forthcoming by-election to the 45-Ghatshila (ST) Assembly Constituency in East Singhbhum district. The appointment comes as part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to ensure free, fair, and peaceful elections in the region.
According to an official notification issued by the District Election Office, East Singhbhum, the Election Commission has designated Gajrao Bhupal (B.P.S.) as the Police Observer for the constituency. He will oversee all law and order arrangements, monitor enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct, and ensure that the security machinery functions impartially throughout the electoral process.
The Police Observer will be available for meetings and public interaction at Room No. 02, Director Bungalow (DB), Maubhandar, Ghatsila. Voters and residents of the constituency can directly reach out to him with any election-related complaints, grievances, or information regarding violations of election norms. Officials stated that the appointment of a Police Observer is a routine but crucial step to strengthen transparency and accountability in the conduct of elections. The Observer will coordinate closely with district police and administration officials to review security arrangements at polling stations, movement of polling parties, and deployment of forces.
Citizens have been urged to cooperate with the administration and report any suspicious activity or violation of electoral laws to the Observer or the district control room. The district authorities have reiterated their commitment to conducting the by-election in a peaceful and transparent manner, ensuring that every voter can exercise their franchise freely and without fear.
