Jamshedpur, Dec. 30: With New Year round the corner, youths are always seen indulging in rash driving in city roads or performing stunts while some are indulged in unlawful gathering.
In a special drive on the eve of 31st December celebration, district police booked over 200 youths and men from different locations of the city who were seen indulging in illegal gathering.
Traffic police also booked over a dozen motorists for over-speeding and negligence driving and wheeling. Some of the youths were found to driving recklessly and without documents endangering the lives of other motorists.
During the last day of the year on 31st December, people all over celebrate the last day of the year and welcome new year with pomp and enthusiasm hosting parties.
The drive led by deputy commissioner Dr. Amitabh Kauhsal and City SP Chandan Jha and police officers of various police stations called the parents of the arrested youths and motorists and only let them off after warning.
Some were told to update their documents and issue valid driving license while some were told to remain away from illegal gathering.
Police made elaborate arrangements to ensure minimum road accidents on the occasion as people, especially youth indulged in racing, wheeling and dangerous stunts.
