Jamshedpur: In a major breakthrough against gangster Akhilesh Singh, the police here have found documents and papers related to various movable and immovable properties that the gangster has made across the country.

The documents of the landed properties, were recovered following a raid at one of Akhilesh’s residential flats in Shristi Gardens at Birsanagar on Wednesday.

Senior superintendent of police, Anoop T Mathew said that acting on a tip-off a police team led by City SP, Prashant Anand raided at the five residential flats at Shristy Gardens this afternoon when the team recovered a bag which contained the documents and papers.

“As we went through those documents, we discovered that the gangster who is presently on the run has bought residential apartments, duplex, landed properties and cars at the cities like Dehradun, Noida, Jabalpur and Ranchi. What is significant behind the accumulation of these landed properties is that in each of the cities he has bought the properties by changing his name and also his wife’s name on the basis of fake voter ID proof, fake PAN card, fake Aadhar Card,” said Mathew.

According to the documents, the gangster has bought the properties at Jabalpur by changing his name as Sanjay Singh and wife Garima Singh’s name as Annu Singh. He has bought a plot measuring 1,437 square ft land at Rajul, a duplex and one acres of land at the same township.

This apart he has bought six plots for setting up houses at Rajul itself.

Akhilesh had reportedly bought two residential flats at Rajpur Residency in Dehradun in the name of his wife Garima.
Apart from the residential flats and plots of land, the police have also found the papers related to the gangster’s three cars — one Honda Civic, Honda Creata and an Audi, said the senior cop.

The SSP said the documents that the police have seized include 17 PAN cards, seven driving licenses, 11 voters’ I cards, six ATM cards, three Aadhaar cards and four gas connections.

Mathew, when queried, said it was not possible to arrive at the estimated cost of the properties the gangster has made, but it is certain that they would initiate steps to get all the properties seized by approaching to the Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax departments soon.
