Jamshedpur, July 16 : Police constable, Binay Singh posted at Giridih district has been accused of allegedly assaulting two widows at Pardeshipara under Sonarithana area.
Constable and his wife, daughter and son also joined him in assaulting the widows and ransacking their household articles with an intention to driving them out of the house.
The victim widow Moni Devi and her son Kartyabya Singh today met the senior SP, AnoopBirtharay and narrated the incident.
The senior SP has assured him of necessary action against the constable Binay Singh and other accused persons.
Significantly, OC, Sonari thana, Niraj Prasad Sinha said that no one has lodged any complaint regarding any assault by police constable Binay Singh as such on July 12.
“I will make sure that the case is probed and take necessary action if I get any complaint regarding a police constable’s highhandedness at any place in Sonari,” said Sinha.
Moni Devi has sustained injuries. Another widow Shobha Devi (52) is also injured and both are staying at their house in fear.
Moni Devi’s son, Kartyabya Singh said his late father, Sardanand Singh had given a portion of the single-storeyed house on rent to Binay Singh about 15 years ago.
” We are in state of shock. My father had given a portion on rent to the constable about 15 years ago. My father died in 2008 and ever since his death the constable has been creating problem by intimidating me and my mother,” said Kartyabya.
Kartyabya, who is a businessman said that the torture on his mother and aunt by the constable who is on leave and his family members was in increasing order and finally on July 12 afternoon, they all tried to drive his widow mother out of the house.
“I was out of station for work on July 12 and after the assault, my mother informed me. The next day I went over to the Sonarithana and lodged a formal FIR. But the OC, Niraja Prasad Sinha insisted on submitting another FIR. Ultimately, I met the senior SP, AnoopBirtharay at his office today,” said Kartyabya.
