Police attach property of former secretary of TFCCS

Jamshedpur : Police today attached property of Tisco Friends Co-operative Credit Society’s (TFCCS) former secretary Aslam Khan in Bistupur.

Khan, who is a resident of the TFCCS building located at the Diagonal Road in Bistupur was absconding after being charged in a case of cheating and misappropriation registered with the Bistupur ice station in January this year.

The court of first class judicial magistrate S N Lamay, and officials of Bistupur police station arrived at Khan’s residence and ensured attachment of his property comprising tel- evision sets, a music system, furnitures and wallclocks from the house. All the seized items were later brought to the Bistupur police station.

When contacted, the police officials said that the attachment warrant was issued in connection to a case registered against Aslam Khan, Santosh Kumar and Abid Ali of an FIR lodged by a shop-keeper Ashok Khirwal in January this year.

According to the complaint, Ali who was the president of TFCCS in 2010 had sold a space measuring 200 square-feet in the TFCCS building for Rs 12 lakh.

“The accused received Rs 12 lakh from Khirwal for allotting him a shop measuring 200 square feet on the first floor of the TSCCS building. But, they built the shop in the basement which was earmarked for using the basement as parking area. However, a team of officials from Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) inspected the TFCCS building and razed Khirwal’s shop alongwith several other shops which had been set up in the base- ment of the TSCCS building,” sub-inspector Baiju Singh of Bistupur police station noted.

According to police, when Khirwal protested the move the accused refused to listen to Khirwal and insisted that they had built the shop for him and had already allotted the space to Khirwal.

Latter on, Khirwal subsequently filed a complaint against Aslam Khan, Abid Ali and Santosh Kumar with the court of chief judicial magistrate, Jamshedpur leading the court to first issue arrest warrant and subsequently issued warrant of attachment against Khan.
