Jamshedpur, May 21 : Seraikela-Kharsawan district superintendent of police, Rakesh Bansal said they have arrested two persons out of 21 culprites identified to be involved in the lynching incident at Rajnagar.
Those arrested were identified as Dharnidhar Jyotish (28) and Turuk Mahto (30), both residents of Padman Sahi, a village close to Shobhapur where the lynching of four youths, Sheikh Naim, Sheikh Sajju, Sheikh Siraj and Sheikh Halim began.
Meanwhile, a meeting between police and local residents was organised at Karandih Chowk in Parsudih locality of the city. The meeting convened by a prominent tribal leader, Iswar Soren was attended by about 40 local residents, mostly tribals and also some police officers.
” We have decided that we would move into the interior of the tribal-dominated areas and create awareness against false and baseless child abduction rumour spread by vested interests ,” said Soren.
