Jamshedpur: Police have arrested Himanshu Kumar Singh and Punno Gope in connection with snatching of RS 12,000 and a mobile phone in a case dated August 25, 2014. A case (no 184/14, dated 25.08.2014) had been registered with Kadma PS to the effect.
The incident had taken place on Marine Drive Road under Kadma PS in which Himanshu Kumar Singh along with Punno Gope had beaten up one truck driver Govind Raj and snatched Rs 12,000 and a mobile phone from him.
During investigation it came to the notice of the police one K Anand Rao of Shyam Nagar Kadma was using the stolen mobile phone.
Anand Rao told the police that he had purchased the mobile set from Himanshu. During interrogation Himanshu admitted to his complicity in the case. Later on both Himanshu and Punna Gope were arrested.
The duo said that they had sold the mobile phone to K Anand Rao at Rs 800. Himanshu is a resident of Ram Nagar Road no 7 and Punno is said to be resident of Shanti Nagar, Adityapur Police station.
