Jamshedpur: City police on Saturday arrested one Raju Das in connection with the loot of a two-wheeler from a bank employee from Gamharia police station area.
Police sources said the accused, a resident of Pradhan Tola under Bagbera PS, had allegedly looted the two-wheeler, an Activa, belonging to a Canara Bank employee and resident of Mahananda Complex at Kunj Nagar, Sonari, on 18th January last.
The victim was on his way to the bank when he was intercepted by the accused and two others between Tiruldih and Jamjora. The three accused also looted three mobile phones and other documents from the possession of the victim, police sources said.
Police Inspector Arvind Kumar of Gamharia police station said that the looted two-wheeler and mobile phones had been recovered on the basis of lead given by Raju. He said the accused was involved in several cases of theft, Arms Act, loot and other crimes. He added that raids were on to nab the other members of the gang.
The police officers who arrested the accused person include Upendra Pathak and Birendra Sharma.
