Jamshedpur: Enmity between two rival factions has triggered a controversy. While the police arrested an offender his family members leveled allegation against police of having malicious intention.
According to Police one Danish a resident of Azad Nagar and his rival Salman Hashmi had old enmity.
The enmity came on the street when Danish in a bid to assault Salman took out a pistol and pulled the trigger on point blank on Salman.
But incidentally the pistol got locked and failed to fire and thus Salman’s life was saved. After the local residents raised alarm Danish and his companions ran away from the spot.
In this connection a case (no 29/15 dated 03.02.15 under sections 341/323/307/504/506/ 34 IPC) has been registered with Azad Nagar Police Station.
There were apprehensions that the rivalry would further escalate, but the police action prompted Danish to flee from Mango and take refuge at Muslim Basti at Golmuri from where he was arrested.
The City SP Kartik S said that Danish in his statements has conceded his involvement in the case. After stringent interrogation Danish revealed that he had hidden the pistol under a culvert at ‘Chepa Pullia’ at Azadnagar.
The officer in-charge of Azadnagar recovered a 7.65 mm foreign made pistol based on the statements made by Danish. In this connection another case (no 31/15 dated 05.02.15 under Sections 25 (1B), A/26/35 under Arms Act) has been registered. The police also recovered two live cartridges from the possession of Danish, the City SP said.
However the family members of Danish alias Shabanul Haque, son of Ezajul Haque in a petition to SSP claimed that Danish was falsely implicated in the case.
Ezajul Haque stated that his son had no enmity with anyone but Golmuri police had wrongfully detained him at Golmuri PS for three days.
On February 6 he was sent to jail which is a grave injustice, Ezajul Haque said. The family members said they would meet the chief minister on the issue to seek justice.
On the other hand Danish when he was taken to jail threatened the officer in-charge of Golmuri Police station Md. Nehaluddin of dire consequences.
