Police apprehend two with brown sugar in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, March 17: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Mango Police nabbed two smugglers with brown sugar near Bada Hanuman Temple. The arrested were identified as Rohit Dey alias Shooter from Chowka in Seraikela-Kharsawan district, and Sunil Yadav alias Bosco a resident of Daiguttu.

A total of 17 packets of brown sugar were seized from the duo. Bhola Prasad, DSP Headquarters, stated that the police received confidential information regarding illicit drug trafficking in the vicinity of Hanuman Temple. Acting swiftly, a police team was formed that conducted the operation leading to the apprehension of the two suspects.

During the search, Rohit was found in possession of 10 packets of brown sugar, while Sunil had seven. It was revealed that Rohit had previously served time in jail under the NDPS Act in the Sitaramdera police station area and had recently been released.

Further investigations are underway to ascertain the source of their brown sugar procurement. Authorities are determined to apprehend others involved in the illegal drug trade.
