Jamshedpur, September 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jamshedpur on September 15, where he will launch several projects and hold roadshow and public meeting to energize the BJP’s campaign for the upcoming 2024 state elections. The BJP is optimistic about the PM’s visit, particularly focusing on Kolhan division, where the party struggled in the last assembly elections, failing to win any of the 14 seats.

Jamshedpur holds strategic importance, as it borders Saraikela, the hometown of former Chief Minister Champai Soren, who recently defected from JMM to BJP. The BJP is determined to strengthen its presence in the Kolhan region, aiming to reverse the losses of the previous election, including the defeat of then-CM Raghubar Das.

BJP leaders believe that PM Modi’s visit could significantly impact the political landscape in Jharkhand. Speculations are rife that leaders from other parties may join BJP during or before the event, following hints from BJP election co-in-charge Himanta Biswa Sarma that some Congress and JMM MLAs are in touch with the party. However, Sarma also indicated that there is limited space for everyone in BJP.

Meanwhile, the ruling JMM and Congress are reportedly working to prevent party defections, especially in the wake of Champai Soren’s shifting of party base. As part of this effort, MLA Ramdas Soren from the Ghatsila constituency has been appointed as a minister, replacing Champai Soren.

Following PM Modi’s visit, the BJP’s election campaign will gain momentum, with central leaders set to visit the state strategically. The party will focus on key issues to build voter support, while senior leaders work on finalizing the manifesto for the upcoming elections.

Jamshedpur, September 11: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) is taking a cautious and proactive approach in preparation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit and the BJP’s election campaign for the 2024 assembly polls. The JMM is fully aware of the BJP’s efforts to regain its footing in the Kolhan region, where it faced significant setbacks in the previous elections.

To mitigate the loss of key leader Champai Soren, who recently joined the BJP, the JMM has strategically appointed MLA Ramdas Soren as a minister. This move aims to maintain party unity and offset any further defections.

In collaboration with Congress, JMM leaders, including Chief Minister Hemant Soren, are focusing on retaining their prominent MLAs and preventing any shift toward the BJP. The alliance is also finalizing its election strategy, aiming to present its policies and achievements to the public with renewed vigor.
