PLFI area commander arrested from Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum

Jamshedpur, Sep 24: A dreaded self-styled area commander of naxal outfit People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) was nabbed from Tebo police station area of West Singhbhum district. The security forces also recovered arms from the ultra, Sandi Purti alias Modi. 

Though the police have not confirmed reports of his arrest, sources informed that the forces are engaged in interrogation.    

Police sources have informed that on the basis of the leads provided by the arrested naxalite joint team of police and paramilitary forces are raiding at different places to nab other Maoists too.

Sources informed that the police have decided to ensure strict vigil and deploy additional security forces in the fringe areas. “Security has been beefed up in the area and they were keeping strict vigil on movement of the Naxalites. The plan is to keep a tab on the camps being operated by ultras,” said another official.

An official said he cannot reveal the status of the operation due to security reasons but the forces are targeting the different areas under the Posaita forest.

The forces have started frisking commuters in the bordering areas. At some places common people are also being interrogated by police and paramilitary forces on suspicion. Forces have been deployed in strategic locations.
