Jamshedpur doctor succumbs to injuries at TMH

Jamshedpur, Sep 24: The 29-year-old young doctor of MGM Medical College and Hospital, who allegedly tried to end his life by shooting himself at his residence yesterday succumbed to the injuries during the treatment at the critical care unit ( CCU) of  Tata Main Hospital on Friday morning.

The victim-Amit Kumar Singh, a   resident of S-Type in Adityapur was admitted to the hospital in critical condition yesterday.

According to Rajendra Prasad, the officer-in-charge of Adityapur police station who is probing into the case, the injured doctor died around 6 am.” We are studying various aspects of the case. There might have been some differences in the family, ” he said.

Amit, a junior resident in the medicine department of MGM Medical College and Hospital, had used a licenced pistol of his brother to shoot himself.

Police have recovered the pistol which will be sent for examination at the Forensic Science Laboratory ( FSL) in Ranchi. The body was sent to MGM Hospital for post-mortem.

Dr. Amit Kumar had studied MBBS from Karnataka. He completed  his internship from MGM Hospital and was now serving in the Department of Medicine as a junior doctor.
