Jamshedpur, March 27: World Theatre Day was celebrated on Sunday, March 27 at various places by theatre groups. Geeta Theatre celebrated the occasion by presenting a satire, ‘Kahan Gaya Naitik Jeevan,’ at the Gandhi Maidan in Mango. DD Association and social organization, ‘Anukriti’ joined hands with Geeta Theatre to organize and celebrate the occasion. The play was themed on the fallacies of changing times and changing moral and social values. One focal point of the play was the addiction of children to smart phones that robbed them of the joys of outdoor activities. The theme also highlighted the alienation of family members although they shared a common roof. Addiction to mobile forms, parents egging such addiction instead of allowing children to go out and play and robbing them of family bonds were concerns that society and individuality were being demarcated by a line of value dereliction. The play also focused on changing values where importance of jungles and wild life had been relegated to a moral and social bottomless abyss. Nat-Nati, the narrators, were well defined by Bablu as Nat and Geeta Dixit as Nati. Written and directed by the duo of Prem Dixit and Krishna Karmakar, the other members of the cast comprising Pinky, Shubham, Raju, Neha, Priya, Kumari Shweta, Kumar Singh, Ram Mahto and Nisha. Central President of Singhbhum Senior Citizens Association Shivpujan Singh, Mango Municipal Corporation Executive Officer Deepak Sahay among others were present during the staging of the play.
