Jamshedpur, Feb 16: A flying squad of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) launched a surprise inspection drive to prosecute violators of various municipal norms. A stock of prohibited plastic was seized from a shop and the shop owner was consequently fined Rs 5000. A medical store was fined Rs 2000 for throwing waste in the open. Another medical shop was fined Rs 3000 for not having a valid trade licence. An electronic shop was also fined Rs 3000 for not having trade licence.
The flying squad officials said the campaign would continue unabated as it had resulted in better compliance with municipal laws.
