Jamshedpur: A plantation drive was launched on Monday in the memory of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on the occasion of his 74th birth anniversary. Members of East Singhbhum District Congress Seva Dal planted saplings at various places across the city. They carried out plantation on the banks of Swarnarekha river, Sakchi Gandhi Ghat, Bagunhatu football ground and several other places.
At Gandhi Ghat, the Congress leaders paid floral tributes to the former PM and took a pledge to serve the people by following the Congress ideology.
Among those present on the occasion included Rakesh Sahu, Parvinder Singh, Surendra Sharma, Manju Das, Manish Kumar, Neha Kumari, Munna Dubey and Pramod Singh.
