Jamshedpur, July 8: �Ruchi Narendran, chairperson, AIWC, flagged off the drive for plantation of fruit saplings for Zone 1, in front of P. N. Bose�s statue at Northern Town area on Friday.
The drive is a part of the on-going �Ek ped ek jeevan� campaign, which was inaugurated by the Chief Minister Raghubar Das at Sitaramdera Jamshedpur on Thursday, July 7.
Ashish Mathur, managing director, Jusco, Capt. Dhananjay Mishra, senior GM, JTO, and other officers and supervisors of Jusco were present at the flag-off event. �Over 300 fruit saplings were planted on Friday in the Northern Town Area.
The city has been demarcated into 20 zones where the plantation drive would be initiated and a total of over 1 lakh fruit saplings would be planted.
Zone-wise flag off would be done in every week for all the zones where the fruit saplings would be planted.
