Jamshedpur, December 22: A licensed pistol and Rs 50,000 were stolen from the car of Babulal Soren, son of state’s transport minister Champai Soren, on Wednesday night.
Babulal Soren had parked his car near the Bistupur Ram Mandir at the time of this incident that took place under Bistupur police station area. When he returned after completing his work, he found that the licensed pistol and Rs 50,000 in cash kept in the car were missing. After this, Babulal Soren reached Bistupur police station and lodged a complaint in this regard.
Babulal Soren in the complaint alleges that around 4.30 pm on Wednesday, he parked his car near the temple and went to work. But when he returned around 9.55 pm, his pistol and Rs 50,000 kept in the car were missing. According to the FIR, there was no damage anywhere in the car and neither was its glass broken. Police is probing how the theft took place without breaking the glass or opening the door.
Bistupur police station in-charge Vishnu Raut told that the police is currently investigating the matter.
