Jamshedpur, Jan 12: National Medical Commission (NMC) granted Letter of Permission (Recognition) for PG studies in all subjects at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Medical College. For the first time, PG studies in all subjects are going to start in MGM Medical College.
Admission will be done in various departments from this session. For this the counseling started from Wednesday. Till now, MBBS students had to go out due to lack of PG studies in all subjects in MGM. Due to this, there is a huge shortage of specialist doctors in Jharkhand, but now this problem will be seen to be removed soon. Earlier MGM did not have the facility of PG education in all subjects. Earlier, diploma and degree studies were conducted in 11 seats in six subjects. But now degree studies in all subjects will be possible. With this, 33 specialist doctors will be prepared every year.
In this regard, Dr. KN Singh, Principal, MGM Medical College said that it is a great achievement to start PG in all subjects for the first time in MGM Medical College. This has been made possible by the efforts of Minister Banna Gupta, Health Secretary Arun Kumar Singh along with all the professors, assistant professors and other teachers of the college. This will remove the shortage of specialist doctors.
