Ranchi, August 16: In the meeting of Jharkhand Petroleum Dealers Association on Friday, it has been decided to keep all the petrol pumps of the state closed on September 2.
From 17 August, petrol pump workers will work wearing black badges. Ashok Singh, President of Jharkhand Petroleum Dealers Association, informed that seven point demands were discussed in the meeting of petroleum dealers.
They have demanded that 22 percent VAT be reduced to 17 percent. Petroleum dealers have demanded freedom from VAT returns. It was decided in the meeting that they will put their point to the public and public representatives through a white paper.
President Ashok Singh said that petroleum dealers have to pay renewal charge every three years. At the same time, 18 thousand rupees have to be spent every year for petrol pump machine. Petroleum dealers have also placed their demand to increase the margin from the central and state government. Petroleum dealers will send their demand to the Center through the Governor.
In 2021 around 1,400 petrol pumps across Jharkhand remained closed demanding reduction in Value Added Tax (VAT), their association said.
