Jamshedpur: The District Administration on Saturday released the list of election symbols allotted to candidates contesting for the posts of Mayor and Chairperson in the upcoming municipal corporation and municipal council elections across the district.
For the Mango Municipal Corporation mayoral election, a total of 13 candidates have been allotted symbols. Indira Sundi has been allotted the Air Conditioner symbol, while Kumkum Srivastava will contest on the Walking Stick symbol. Zeba Qadri has been assigned Bangles, Parvati Devi Battery Torch, Pratibha Rani Bench, Banita Sahay Biscuit, Raimuni Sundi Box, Lucky Singh Bricks, Shaista Parveen alias Zeba Khan Bucket, Sandhya Singh Camera, Sudha Gupta Carpet, Sushila Singh CCTV Camera and Sonamuni Soren has been allotted the Chapati Roller symbol.
The District Administration also informed that the Ward Member post in Ward No. 22 of Mango Municipal Corporation will remain vacant as no eligible candidates were found for the seat.
In the Jugsalai Municipal Council, eight candidates are in the fray for the Chairperson post. Indu Devi has been allotted the Air Conditioner symbol, Jaspreet Kaur the Walking Stick, Dolly Mallick Bangles, Nilufer Hussain Battery Torch, Nausheen Khan Bench, Balbir Kaur Biscuit, Mussarrat Khatun Box and Rinku Singh has been allotted the Bricks symbol.
The administration further announced that several ward councillors in Jugsalai Municipal Council have been elected unopposed. Mohammad Abbas Ansari has been declared elected from Ward No. 05, Firdaus Parveen from Ward No. 06, Saleha Amira from Ward No. 09, Amreen Parveen from Ward No. 10 and Rashid Iqbal Ansari from Ward No. 11.
For the Chakulia Nagar Panchayat Chairperson election, four candidates have been allotted symbols. Somwari Seren will contest with the Battery Torch symbol, Sandhya Rani Sardar with Bangles, Chandana Murmu with Air Conditioner and Shilawati Tudu with the Walking Stick symbol..
In Chakulia Nagar Panchayat as well, some ward councillors have been elected unopposed. Sonia Das from Ward No. 03, Md. Nazimuddin from Ward No. 08 and Karmi Soren from Ward No. 12 were declared elected without contest.
The District Public Relations Office stated that all election-related processes are being conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the State Election Commission to ensure free, fair and transparent municipal elections in East Singhbhum district.
