Performance of Under 16 and 19 players praised at JSCA meeting

Jamshedpur: Members of Jharkhand State Cricket Association(JSCA) residing in Jamshedpur met today at the JSCA Conference Hall, Keenan Stadium, Jamshedpur, in which more than 60 members along-with first class cricketers were present.

Honorary Secretary of JSCA Rajesh Verma presided over the meeting. He briefed the members about the performance of different age group teams in BCCI tournaments going on in the current season. He told that the JSCA U-19 team had done extremely well in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy tournament which concluded recently at the JSCA International Cricket Stadium, Ranchi defeating all teams in a row and emerged as group champion in the east zone. The members specially appreciated the performance of Ishan Kishan.

Verma also told the members that the U-16 boys were doing well as they had defeated Tripura by an inning and 20 runs and secured 7 points from the match which was played at Chaibasa. Apart from that the women’s U-19 team had also won their first match against Tripura at Guwahati while the remaining two matches were called off due to rain. The members were satisfied with the performance of the players in the tournaments concluded so far an appreciated the efforts of the support staff and members of the committee of management for smooth and sincere conduct of the game.

The members strongly criticised the incidents which took place yesterday and also in the past at JSCA office. Regarding submission of report submitted by the groups of Latehar yesterday, Verma said that concerned party had submitted a report regarding Latehar District Cricket Association and the Association will look into the matter.

Among those present in the meeting were Kajal Das, Victor Joseph, Subrato Das, Ashok Ghosh, Nishi Kant Mohanty, Daliya Rao, Kanu Chakraborty, Samar Bose, Jamadagni Vyas, Milan Dutta, Lallan Prasad Rai, Prakash Kumar, PS Sen, BN Singh, Umesh Sethi, Amitabh Dhar, Ashish Sinha, BF Zorolia, Dr Nafis Akhtar Khan, Deepak Kumar and Shashi Nair.
