Jamshedpur: The MP of Jamshedpur Vidyut Varan Mahato met the Union Minister of State for External Affairs VK Singh and requested him to open a passport office in Jamshedpur.
He said the passport office was needed by a large number of people of Kolhan, especially the residents of Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency.
During the meeting, the MP told the Union Minister that the basic infrastructure required to open a passport office in the city was available. He said he had talked to the vice president of Corporate Services, Tata Steel, and that the company was ready to provide the necessary facilities.
The MoS said he was issuing necessary instructions to the Ministry officials to start a mini passport centre at the main post office of the city. If problems arise, the help of private companies may be taken.
