Ranchi : Jharkhand BJP leaders today unanimously decided to expedite development projects being run by the state government by working at grassroots level in every district of the state, especially in rural and backward areas.
Addressing party leaders during a meeting of the state BJP held at the CM House in Ranchi, Chief Minister Raghubar Das said there was a great responsibility on the shoulders of party workers to dissemination information regarding the development works being done by the state government.
“The party workers of BJP should reach out to the people, especially those living in remote rural areas and tell them about the various development and welfare schemes being implemented in the state. Unless and until people are apprised of the latest schemes and development works of the state government, it is difficult to ensure maximum benefit for the people for whom they are meant,” said the CM.
Motivating party workers, the CM said it was next to impossible for the government to take the government schemes to the people without the cooperation of party workers and the people.
He said the district presidents of the party should ensure success of public awareness programmes being run by the state BJP president. He said that a meeting of the state BJP president and all district presidents of the party would be organized at CM House every three months. He said there should be proper coordination between the government and the party organization.
Informing district presidents about the government’s achievements and plans, the CM said that the government had provided electricity to households where there was no electricity in the last 70 years. Power supply has been made to 38,000 households, he said, adding that the government had plans to provide electricity to each and every household and that work was being done on war footing to make this possible.
Presiding over the meeting, the state BJP president Laxman Gilua said the party had set itself to the task of taking various welfare and development schemes of the Central and state governments to the last man in urban and rural areas as its first priority. He said booth level meetings will be organized from time to time to create public awareness on such schemes. He said the party activists should be trained for the awareness programmes.
Speaking on the hullabaloo created by the Opposition parties on the proposed amendments in the CNT Act and the SPT Act, Gilua said, “The Opposition parties are spreading misleading and malafide rumour on the land laws. State government is all set to bring the Adivasi and Moolvasi residents of Jharkhand on the path to development. The Adivasis have long suffered neglect.
Now the government is doing everything for their welfare. It is also giving due respect to the martyrs and revolutionaries of the state. The government has built houses for the descendants of Siddho and Kanhu.”
The meeting was also attended by the district BJP president of Jamshedpur Dinesh Kumar. It was decided to get a BJP office constructed in Jamshedpur very soon. He further said that party flags should not be used in private vehicles. He said action will be taken against those misusing the party flag.
Among major decisions taken at the meeting include plans for celebration of Jharkhand’s foundation day anniversary by the party on 15th November, extension of party’s district committees before foundation day, creating public awareness on CNT and SPT Acts and government schemes, strengthening party organization at booth level and holding discussions on the religion code implemented by the government.
