Parties come out with merchandise to woo voters in Jamshedpur, ?BJP takes a lead

Jamshedpur : Political parties in fray for Lok Sabha elections are busy chalking strategies to woo voters. Special focus is being laid on publicity, ahead of the polls and for this every party is trying to come up with merchandise.

BJP has come up with a NaMo app for the sale of Brand Modi merchandise.

The state unit of BJP has also procured T-shirts, caps, mugs and dupatta for sale at the party�s state office in Ranchi.

 �The merchandise has arrived from Delhi recently  and more such stocks will arrive shortly and will be kept for sale at the shop near the party state headquarter (near Harmu By-Pass). We will also procure key-chains and kurtas,� said BJP state office-in-charge Hemant Das .

The T-shirts are coloured in BJP colour of saffron and green with white lotus flower in the middle and photograph of Narendra Modi each costing Rs 100. Saffron colour dupatta with party symbol lotus flower in white costing Rs 30 each is available.

 �Weare well ahead of other political parties be it in traditional mode of campaigning with cadres reaching out to booth level and also in digital medium with our IT cells propagating party manifesto in social media,� said an official.

A staff at the Namo Merchandise store in the BJP state office claimed that on an average nearly 100 pieces of merchandise are being sold daily ever since the merchandises started arriving in the outlet a week back.

The leading opposition alliance partners � Congress and JMM�in the state are also taking steps to launch merchandise.

 �We are planning to have RaGa T-shirts from Delhi written �RaGa This Time� and key chains with Rahul Gandhi face. It will be arriving shortly at the party state quarters soon,� said a Congress leader.

Anil Modi, media in-charge, Kolhan, BJP said that since the electorate is estimated to comprise a record number of under-35 and first-time voters so the party is focusing on hi-tech means of campaigning.

 �Technology is going to play extraordinary role this time, though it is one of our many campaign tools. People in Chaibasa are tech-savvy and we need to address them accordingly,� said MurliTudu, a JMM activist from Seraikela.
