Jamshedpur, Dec 24: Parsudih police claimed to have cracked the case of abduction and murder of Pankaj Kumar Rai, 17, a resident of Gadra, by arresting two persons, identified as Suraj Sharma and Sukhram Samat alias Ghunghroo.
According to DSP law and order Alok Ranjan, the accused persons had abducted Pankaj on 20th December last and demanded a ransom of Rs 5 lakh from his family members. The entire plan was hatched by Rajendra Mahato alias Tinku Mahato who had reportedly lent some money to Pankaj. When he demanded the money back, Pankaj failed to return the same. As a result, Rajendra and his associates planned Pankaj�s abduction. The accused persons showed a video of Pankaj kept by them at an isolated place. But later, they stoned him to death in order to evade arresting by police, said the DSP.
Investigators had recovered a blood-stained stone, a motorcycle, a blood-stained jeans, a plastic rope and liquor bottles from the crime scene. They cracked the case on the basis of call details of accused persons and the complaint lodged by Chandan Rai, brother of the deceased.
