Parsudih agriculture market drivers call off agitation

Jamshedpur: Parsudih agriculture market auto-rickshaw drivers called off their agitation on Thursday after getting an assurance of 10 per cent hike in the transportation charges from the traders. The agitation ended after four days as Parsudih police, traders’ representatives and Youth Congress leader Rakesh Sahu persuaded the auto-rickshaw drivers to call off the strike.

The drivers had gone on strike demanding hike with immediate effect. Among those who played a vital role in ending the stand-off included Parsudih OC Animesh Gupta, Deepak Bhalotia, Satyanarayan Agrawal, Pappu Agrawal, Surendra Yadav, Ajay Singh, Aparna Guha and Aruna Mukhi.
