Parking facility planned at Civil Surgeon’s office, fee capped at ₹10

Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum district administration has announced plans for the construction of a dedicated parking facility within the Civil Surgeon’s office premises to improve convenience for visitors and streamline traffic management in the area.

The decision was taken during a District Coordination Committee meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan at the Collectorate conference hall. During the review, the Deputy Commissioner directed officials to identify suitable land for the project and initiate the tender process at the earliest. He also fixed the maximum parking fee at ₹10 to ensure affordability for the public.

In a related development, Rajiv Ranjan instructed the Executive Engineer of the Building Construction Department and the Principal of MGM Medical College to conduct a joint site inspection and take necessary measures to accelerate ongoing infrastructure development works within the MGM Medical College and Hospital campus.

The meeting focused on strengthening inter-departmental coordination and ensuring the timely implementation of public welfare schemes and development projects. The Deputy Commissioner directed departments to work in close coordination to improve infrastructure, strengthen health services, implement social security schemes effectively, enhance road safety, and accelerate rural development initiatives.

Reviewing welfare programmes, he instructed officials to complete NPCI mapping of beneficiaries under the Jharkhand Chief Minister Maiyan Samman Yojana on a priority basis. The Lead District Manager was directed to coordinate with banks across all blocks to ensure beneficiaries do not face inconvenience while completing the process.

The Deputy Commissioner also ordered the completion of physical verification of beneficiaries under the Sarvajan Pension Yojana within one week. He stressed transparency in the selection of beneficiaries under housing schemes and directed that lists be prepared only after approval from Gram Sabhas.

Under MGNREGA, officials were instructed to complete e-verification of job cards before July 1. Directions were also issued to identify unsafe and dilapidated government residential buildings across blocks, declare them condemned through proper procedures and undertake demolition where necessary.

To improve road safety, Rajiv Ranjan directed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the District Transport Office to jointly monitor vehicle speed limits and implement corrective measures at accident-prone locations along the Pardih-Baharagora stretch.

All Circle Officers were asked to identify land in their respective blocks for the construction of Community Health Centres and Waste-to-Art parks. Proposals for beautification and painting of district-level government offices were also sought.

The Deputy Commissioner also instructed all Block Development Officers to conduct extensive awareness campaigns against substance abuse. At the end of the meeting, he administered an anti-drug pledge to all officials and staff members present, urging them to spread awareness about the harmful effects of addiction.
