Jamshedpur: With temperatures in Jamshedpur dipping below 10 degrees Celsius and a cold wave expected in the coming days, the Jamshedpur Abhibhawak Sangh (Parents Association) has called for changes in school timings to protect students from the harsh weather.
On Saturday, a delegation led by Association President Dr. Umesh Kumar met the Deputy Commissioner to submit their request. The association emphasized that the entire state of Jharkhand is experiencing severe cold, making it difficult for young children to attend school during early morning hours.
They proposed revised timings, suggesting that classes for students from nursery to Class 5 should run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., while classes for students from Class 6 to 12 should be scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Deputy Commissioner assured the delegation that their concerns would be considered.
