Parents Association demonstrates against arbitrary fees

Jamshedpur : Even as, controversy gripped the issue of random (lottery) admission process, the schools courted yet another problem by announcing likely increase in the tuition fee from the new academic session.

The parents however have expressed disappointment with the decision. Well, first we will appeal to the school(s) management to roll back the decision but if required we will seek judiciarys help, said Dr Umesh, conevnor of Jamshedpur Parents Association.

He said at a time when lower middle earning families are finding difficult to cough up annual school expenditure of their wards further fee hike will only compound their monetary problems.

He also said schools are not improving their education standard nor the salaries of the teachers of the respective schools have been revised in the last few years but the school management decides to increase the monthly fee citing price rise and inflation.

I spend about Rs 1500 every month on two of my daughters studying in UKG and STD X respectively, in the Sacred Heart Convent School.

Further increase in the tuition fee will only destabilize my budget, said private Bank employee Naresh Kumar expressing unhappiness with the fee hike decision.
