Parent orientation program at DAV Bistupur

Jamshedpur, April 12: DAV Public School, Bistupur, organized a parent orientation program for class 12 students, aimed at informing parents about important issues related to their children appearing for class 12 board exams. The event provided parents with an opportunity to learn about the school’s activities and build a rapport with teachers, recognizing the school as a second home for their children.

Mousumi Bhattacharjee, a senior faculty member and coordinator for senior secondary classes, provided parents with essential details to guide their children through this crucial year. She outlined ways in which parents can support their children in managing stress and motivating them to excel academically. Bhattacharjee also emphasized the importance of nurturing children with love and care to lay the foundation for a successful future. She offered insights into the subjects, activities, course content, and assessment breakdown for the academic year.

Following Bhattacharjee’s presentation, S K Samanta, Senior PGT, enlightened parents about DAV National Sports, certified and recognized by the Ministry of Sports. Samanta discussed the school’s rules and regulations, stressing the importance of instilling professional etiquettes in students and providing tips to enhance their skills and careers.

Pragya Singh, Principal cum ARO of DAV Public Schools, Jharkhand Zone E, addressed the gathering and expressed concerns about the societal pressure influencing students’ academic choices. She highlighted the trend of enrolling students in coaching classes based on societal expectations rather than considering individual capabilities, leading to lower academic performance. Singh emphasized the need to prioritize education quality over promotion quotas and urged for a reevaluation of teaching methods and evaluation criteria.

The orientation program aimed to educate parents on guiding their children effectively and fostered collaboration between parents and the school. It facilitated the development of a common teaching strategy and equipped parents with follow-up methods to reinforce their children’s learning.
