Pappu Sardar celebrates Madhuri Dixit’s birthday with Mass Marriage in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: In a heartwarming and unique gesture, the 58th birthday of Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit was celebrated with great fervor and compassion in Jamshedpur, led by her most devoted fan, Pappu Sardar. The two-day celebration saw a mass marriage of three needy couples, spiritual rituals, and an outreach to the differently-abled at Cheshire Home, Karandih.

On Wednesday, May 14, the first day of the celebration, Pappu Sardar organized a Shiv Charcha and devotional puja at his iconic chaat shop in Sakchi. The rituals were performed by Pandit Santosh Kumar Tripathi, and the Shiv Charcha was led by women devotees including Dolly and Rita. The main highlight of the evening was the mass wedding of three couples: Sulekha Pramanik with Khakan Madrina, Rekha Kumari with Naveen Day, Sumita Tantubai with Nayan Tantubai.

The newlyweds were given household essentials by Pappu Sardar, followed by a midnight cake-cutting ceremony in honor of Madhuri Dixit’s birthday. The couples themselves cut the cake amidst cheers and celebrations.

On Thursday, May 15, the celebration continued with a touching gesture as Pappu visited Cheshire Home in Karandih, a shelter for the differently-abled. There, he distributed food, gifts, Pepsi, ice cream, chocolates, biscuits, and cake to residents, spreading joy among the special people and staff.

The day also saw free distribution of chaat, sweets, and snacks among the thousands of visitors who came to witness the birthday festivities at Pappu’s shop, which was beautifully decorated like a bride. A special attraction was the selfie corner, where women and girls lined up to take photographs in the festive setting.

The event drew nearly 5,000 people, with several long-time visitors recalling past celebrations. Many women shared that they have been attending this event since 1996, showing unwavering support for both Madhuri Dixit and the social causes Pappu associates with her birthday.

Pappu Sardar, who has been celebrating Madhuri’s birthday for 29 consecutive years, has earned international recognition for his unwavering devotion. His celebrations have evolved from mere fanfare to meaningful acts of charity, inclusion, and social responsibility.

Speaking about the event, a visitor said, “This is not just a fan celebration—this is an expression of love and humanity. Pappu Bhaiya makes Madhuri’s birthday an occasion of joy for so many people, especially those who need it most.”
