Jamshedpur, May 15 – A one-day monthly review meeting of the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) was held at the Civil Surgeon Auditorium, Khasmahal, under the chairmanship of Civil Surgeon Dr. Sahir Pal. The session also included a training program on Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI).
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Pal directed officials to ensure 100% vaccination coverage across all Atal Clinics and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (Urban). He also reviewed the progress of key national health programs, including tuberculosis, malaria, and leprosy.
District R.O. and C.H.O. Officer Dr. Ranjit Kumar Panda gave a detailed briefing on the treatment protocol for AEFI and stressed the importance of its full implementation across the district.
Among those present at the meeting were Dr. Soumya Ghosh, District Leprosy Consultant Dr. Rajiv, and health officials including Manish Kumar Singh, Deepak Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Vishal Kumar, and Amit Kumar. Public Health Managers, ANMs, UBTs, PSI-India representatives, Sahya-Sathi, and Bimal Das also attended the session.
During the event, Civil Surgeon Dr. Pal congratulated the health department team for the recent achievements in quality healthcare. He lauded Urban Primary Health Center, Baliguma for becoming the first Urban-PHC in Jharkhand to receive the NQAS (National Quality Assurance Standards) certification. He also commended PHC Manushmudia, Baharagora, which has become the second NQAS-certified PHC in the state.
These milestones reflect the district’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery and setting quality benchmarks for urban primary health services.
