Gamharia, Nov 4: Panchayat Samiti member Ram Hansda sat on a silent protest at the foot of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Gamharia Block office compound. He was on a day’s protest against the allegedly rampant corruption prevailing in the Gamharia Block, Circle and Civil Supplies departments and demanded an SIT or an independent committee probe. Hansda also protested on pending public issues and demanded solution to the problems. Ram Hansda claimed that departmental officials were also involved in corrupt practices that were plaguing the people of the entire Block. The Panchayat Samiti member said that applications for widow and physically challenged persons’ pension, Mukhiya Mantri Sukanya Yojna were pending in the offices due to lackadaisical attitude of the officials and employees concerned. A demand note inclusive of all the issues was handed to the BDO. Gamharia BDO Thakur Gauri Shankar Sharma stated that the demands raised by Panchayat Samiti member Ram Hansda would be investigated.
