Jamshedpur: Panchayat representatives of Jamshedpur block today staged �mahadharna� under the banner of Mukhia Sangh before the office of the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum in support of 15 demands raised by them. A memorandum was handed over to the DC by a delegation of panchayat representatives led by Kanhu Murmu, Paltan Murmu and Sardar Baldev Singh.
The MP of Jamshedpur Dr Ajay Kumar and Zila Parishad member Rajkumar Singh too, joined the agitation in support of the residents of the various panchayats including Bagbera, Parsudih, Rahargora and other areas of the district. They said the demands raised by the people of the district. They said the demands should not be ignored as the people had long been demanding for basic amenities.
The panchayat leaders said the administration should ensure that the residents of the various panchayats of Jamshedpur block get water, electricity and other facilities. They said the administration should pay attention to enhancing facilities in the neglected areas in Jamshedpur block.
The various demands raised by the leaders include distribution of ration cards, supply of rice as crisis relief measure and ending the necessity of BPL number for getting various pension benefits and allowances.
