Jamshedpur: The urban development department of Jharkhand government has sought a proposal from the district administration to include rural circles of Gadra, Parsudih, Sarjamda and Govindpur in Jamshedpur urban body.
Protesting this move of the government, members of Manki Munda Sangh put up a demonstration before the office of the deputy commissioner on Wednesday. The protestors alleged that the state government and district administration were flouting Constitutional norms by violating provisions laid down for the administration of Fifth Schedule areas of Jharkhand.
They handed over a memorandum addressed to the governor Dr Syed Ahmad to the DC and demanded that their demands be fulfilled without delay. They said the rural circles should not be included in the urban body.
