Jamshedpur, Jan 23: A delegation of panchayat representatives also met legislator Sanjiv Sardar urging him to intervene in the matter of the railway administration’s plans to take over the BNR and Wireless grounds for construction of FCI godowns. They contended that the grounds were used by local children including those of railway employees as playgrounds. If the railways went ahead with their proposed plans then the entire people of the localities including railway workers would be inconvenienced. They stated that the grounds were also used for organizing marriage, social and cultural functions. They urged Sanjiv Sardar to impress upon the rail administration to select other vacant railway grounds for the construction of FCI godowns.
The Potka legislator assured the delegation that he would discuss the matter with the railway administration and ask them to shift the site of godown construction to some other vacant spot belonging to the railways.
The delegation that met legislator Sanjiv Sardar included Mayawati Tudu, Ninu Kudada, Budhram Toppo, Draupadi Munda, Niraj Singh, Suresh Nishad, Ajay Dubey, Ramesh Goswami and others.
