Jamshedpur, Jan 23: The rail administration’s plans to convert the BNR and Wireless Maidans in Bagbera for construction of FCI godowns and the work of measurement being carried out there have evoked protests in many quarters. AJSU Party block president Mahesh Singh led a delegation that included panchayat representatives and district councilor Kishor Yadav met legislator Sanjiv Sardar and urged him to intervene in the matter of the planned takeover of the two grounds.
According to AJSU Party leaders the two grounds are used by people of Bagbera, Parsudih, Traffic Colony and nearby areas as playgrounds and for organizing social and cultural functions. The party executives also suggested alternate railway land where the godowns could be setup. The AJSU Party leaders accused that instead of utilizing the vacant railway land pointed out by them, the rail administration had drawn a ploy to break around 300 residences in the name of construction of godowns for the FCI. AJSU Party threatened that if the rail authorities concerned are bent on going ahead with their plans, the party would noit take it lying down.
The delegation included the party’s district spokesman Appu Tiwary, Rajnish Kunwar, Azad Giri, Vinay Sharma, Sanjay Gupta, Anil Sharma, Babulal Mallick, Dipak Mallick and Surendra Yadav.
