Jamshedpur: A padyatra (march on foot) was taken out against malnutrition in Baharagora by hundreds of school children, administration officials, panchayat representatives and social activists on onday. The band of Kasturba Gandhi Girls School was the chief attraction of the event. It all started at the residential school.
The rally moved through the prominent streets. Members of self help groups of women and anganbari workers were also present on the occasion. Krishnendu Ghosh, consultant, Resource Group for Education and Advocacy for Community Health, spoke on the necessity to make Baharagora TB-free. A meeting was held in this connection on the premises of Baharagora block office. It was addressed by the BDO Lalit Prasad Singh, Circle Officer Heera Kumar, CDPO Heeramoni Hembram and Shashtri Hembram.
