Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, Nov 26: In a significant action against encroachment, a joint team of Tata Steel UISL and the district administration on Wednesday demolished over a dozen illegal makeshift shops near the Bhuiyadih crematorium.

These structures had been operating unlawfully within the crematorium’s premises for a long time, causing obstruction on the land and inconvenience to people arriving for last rites.

The drive began early in the morning on the instructions of the Dhalbhum Sub-Divisional Officer.

Personnel from the local police station, officials of Tata Steel UISL, and administrative staff participated in the eviction drive..

Authorities said that notices had been issued earlier to the encroachers, giving them adequate time to remove the structures on their own.

However, several individuals failed to comply, prompting the administration to take strict measures.

Using JCB machines, all unauthorized structures were dismantled on the spot.

Due to prior planning and smooth coordination among the teams, the entire operation proceeded without any resistance.

Shopkeepers cooperated with the officials, allowing the drive to conclude peacefully.

According to officials, encroachment on public utility land such as crematoriums is inappropriate and creates inconvenience and disorder for local residents.

The administration has reaffirmed that similar actions will continue across the city against illegal occupation of government and leasehold land.

Authorities emphasized that maintaining cleanliness, order, and public convenience will remain their priority, and such drives will be conducted periodically as needed.
