Jamshedpur, Nov 23: Over 40 persons were taken ill after reportedly consuming food at a wedding dinner in Yashodanagar under Govindpur PS on Saturday. The condition of 10 persons including few children was reportedly serious, sources said.
Doctors suspect it to be a case of food poisoning caused by sub-standard food preparations. Dhalbhum SDO Chandan Kumar reached MGM Hospital and began a probe into the incident.
Sources said all 40 persons had gone to a wedding party in Yashodanagar yesterday evening. On returning from the party, the condition of the guests started deteriorating.
By evening, the condition of many of them worsened. They were taken to MGM Hospital and other nursing homes, sources said.
