Over 20,000  Maiya Samman beneficiaries to get Rs 10,000 soon

Ranchi, May 30: The way has been cleared for the payment of  20,000 beneficiaries deprived of the benefits of Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Mainiya Samman Yojana since January.

Their payment is likely to be made in the next one or two days. Earlier, the payment of a total of 77,000  beneficiaries was kept on hold. However, after continuous verification, more than 20,000  beneficiaries have been removed from the hold list.

On the other hand, preparations are also being made to pay the honor amount of April to all the beneficiaries of the district. The Social Security Department has made all the preparations. However, the order for payment has not been received from the state headquarters yet, so the money has not been sent to the beneficiaries’ accounts.

It is said that there is no shortage of money in this item. The government has provided Rs 550 crore to the district administration in this item alone. It is worth mentioning that in March, the amount of three months was paid to the beneficiaries together. Then more than two lakh beneficiaries were given Rs 7500 each. But the money of 77,000 beneficiaries was stopped.

According to department officials, the Aadhaar number of most of these beneficiaries was not linked to the bank account. Such cases also came to light where two or three beneficiaries of the same family had the same bank account.

In DBT payment, every beneficiary should have a separate bank account. Some had wrong Aadhaar numbers and some had wrong bank account numbers. Those beneficiaries who received the first installment of Rs 2500 for the first time in December, and did not get it later, can get Rs 10,000 this time.

More than 20,100 beneficiaries whose verification has been completed can get this much amount. The reason for this is that now they can get the honorarium of four months together in one lump sum.

Although the amount of April and May is already due. But now there is an instruction from the department to give money for only one month. If the payment is not made in the next two days, it will be time to pay the amount for the month of June as well.
