Outsourced workers of MGM threaten to go on indefinite strike

Jamshedpur, August 27: Nearly 250 outsourced personnel at The Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Medical College Hospital have threatened to go on indefinite strike to protest delay in payment of incentives and salary.

A delegation of outsourced nurses met MGM Superintendent Dr Arun Kumar and apprised about their problem in not receiving salary for last two months and incentives.

They also alleged of discrimination in terms of incentives as permanent employees get incentives despite doing their tasks properly even during Covid crisis.

The employees have said that if they do not get salary and incentive money from the private firm Shiva Protection Agency to whom they are outsourced within two days, then they will be forced to go on an indefinite strike and the agency will be responsible for it.

There are more than 500 employees in East Singhbhum district who have not received the incentive amount. The workers said that even after they met the Health Minister regarding the incentive amount their problem was not addressed.
