Jamshedpur, March 16: Outsourced paramedics launched a protest against their salary cut at the MGM Hospital today that amounted to near pandemonium in and around the entire complex. They gheraoed the Hospital Superintendent during their protest.
Presently, outsourced employees whose posts have been terminated are on agitation demanding their reinstallation. To add to the prevailing atmosphere of protest, the outsourced paramedics agitated against their pay cuts. They started their agitation since morning today. All medical work came to a near standstill at the MGM Hospital due to their protest.
According to reports, the minimum salary of paramedics was Rs 9,000 but with a new contractor taking over the outsourcing jobs, their salary had been cut down to Rs 7,000. The agitating paramedics stated that instead of their minimum pay being increased, it had been decreased. They warned that unless their pay was increased they would not resume their work.
