Chaibasa, March 1: Members of Roro Seva Samity submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner of West Singhbhum on Wednesday and demanded action to save Roro river from pollution.
They said the river should be saved at every cost since it was a life line for the people of Chaibasa. The president of the committee Mohammad Salim said the outfit had launched a signature campaign and submitted a memorandum to the district administration.
He said that no action was taken by the administration to clean the river.
He further said that the entire water body rapidly depletes in the month of March and if precautions were taken earlier then the people could use the Roro water even in summer days.
Among those present on the occasion included Ajay Prajapati, Dev Kumar Toppo, Bhima Kujur and Pinku Biswakarma.
